On the afternoon of May 14th, the opening ceremony of the 48th Sport Meet of Tongji University started at the 129 Track and Field Ground at the Siping Campus. Professor Fang Shouen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, Professor Wu Guangming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, Professor Gu Xianglin, Vice President of Tongji University, Professor Peng Zhenwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, and leaders and teachers from administrative offices, various departments, and schools of the university attended the ceremony.
At 14:30, team members holding national flag and university flag, and representative teams from schools (units) ,with their heads high, walked by the rostrum in turn, showing positive and confident image of Tongji youth towards a better tomorrow.
A total of 29 athletes (18 men and 11 women) from the International College of Football Tongji University signed up for 13 track events and 6 field events (19 events in total).
On the first day of competition, the athletes of the International College of Football Tongji University won the runner-up in 4X400 mixed relay group, the second place in men's high jump, the third place in women's long jump, and all the men's and women's 100m preliminaries entered the finals.
On May 15th, the second day of the competition went ahead as scheduled. The International College of Football Tongji University participated in women's 100-meter hurdles, men's 110m hurdles, 100 meters, relay, shot put and other events. Among them, Duan Xinyu won the gold medal in women's 100m hurdles, Zhang Sihan and Tang Xu won the second and third places in women's 100m respectively, Yun Ling won the gold medal in women's 200m, Zhou Lu won the gold medal in women's shot put, and Xu Ya won the gold medal of men's shot put.
Students and faculty members of the International College of Football Tongji University actively involved in the Sport Meet as referees and volunteers.
To sum up, the 48th Sport Meet of Tongji University was successfully held.
